The Middle East region lives in a tremendous instability
caused by a bigger aggressiveness of the imperialism
that uses all the means to achieve its goals. WFDY
expresses its strong disgust, protests and deep concerns
towards the Israeli attacks on Lebanon and Palestine in
the last days, causing hundreds of deaths and injuries
of the Lebanese and Palestinian people. The war
machinery of Israel - supported by the US and its
allies, has been killing and committing massacres
against the innocent Lebanese and Palestinian people,
destroying their society and economy and devastating
their territories.
WFDY considers, during all these years of Israeli
aggression and occupation on Palestinian people, that
the aggression force, separation wall and settlements
are not the solution. WFDY express its serious
apprehension on the continuing crimes against humanity
by the state terrorism of Israeli occupation forces
against the Palestinian people, in Gaza Strip and West
Bank, with the destruction of civilian infrastructures
and public buildings, the imprisonment of Palestinian
leaders and representatives, including from the
Government, which reflects a dangerous escalation of
Israeli aggressiveness of unusual characteristics.
WFDY reiterates its position and its support to its
member organization in Palestine and to the struggle of
Palestinians against the Israeli occupation, for an
independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its
capital, and for the right of return of Palestinian
refugees and the immediate dismantling of the apartheid
wall, which Israel is constructing in occupied
territories of Palestine. WFDY consider that all the
steps to achieve a solution must to have as main content
the rights of Palestinian People, on the basis of the
respective UN resolutions. WFDY believes that the way to
peace and security for the both peoples is two states
for two peoples.
The declarations proclaimed by the G-8 Summit, recently
held in Saint Petersburg, Russia, clearly reveals the
imperialist intentions towards the Middle East Region.
It is clear that they are trying to involve and meddle
Syria within the current situation and aiming to send an
international military force in the region, opening a
gateway for the presence of US and British troops in the
territory, which had been already tried after the murder
of Rafik al-Hariri in Lebanon. The inexistence of a
clear position of condemnation of the Israeli attacks by
the UN, namely by its Security Council, caused by the
position of US is coming to underline the need for a
true democratization of the United Nations, opposing the
US and its allies in their attempts to impose reforms
that consolidate the use of this multilateral
organization as an international tool to legitimize
their interventionist actions, in stead of complying
with its obligation to seek a real balance among the
world’s nations, giving them equal rights and duties,
and empowering the General Assembly.
On this particular dangerous and serious scenario it is
also worth mentioning the courage and important role
played by our member organization in Israel that
alongside with other progressive, democratic and peace
loving forces struggle against the occupation and
violence of Israeli State that aim to strike the peace,
freedom, independence, national sovereignty and social
progress of the Lebanese and Palestinian People.
We call upon all our member and friendly organizations
at national, regional and international level as well as
all the anti-imperialist youth movement to boost the
struggle against this criminal crusade and develop a
range of actions to raise the awareness of the young
people and compel Israel to immediately withdraw its
forces and halt all the military operations in Lebanon
and Palestine. Therefore we also call upon the
Secretary-General of United Nations and all
international community and peace loving forces to
intervene and put pressure on Israel to stop immediately
the aggression against Lebanese and Palestinian youth
and people.

firmly believes that the action and the fight of the
anti-imperialist, progressive and democratic youth
movement, all over the world will emerge victorious
being convinced that the imperialist and capitalist
forces will never stop the fight of the youth and the
people for just causes.
