On the Hiroshima and Nagasaki days

The World Federation of Democratic Youth would like to extend its solidarity with Victims of use of Nuclear weapons in Hiroshima and Nagasaki on this sad commemoration of 66th anniversary of Hiroshima and Nagasaki Day.

On this sad occasion we would like to remind that the first festival of WFDY had highlighted two issues in the village near Prague where there were devastated consequences of Nazi war. The first issue was how fascism and its alliances did its barbaric acts to the people of weaker nation, different ideology and races whereas another issue is on the use of nuclear bomb by the United State against civilian people of Japan. No logics can justify such use of nuclear weapons in the cities of any moral war and no any reason for safety and retaliation to any aggression can justify the use of nuclear weapon against any civilians and in the case in which the bomb was used by the USA against Japan it worth to underline that the country had, in fact, already surrendered and stopped hostilities. Due to the drop of these nuclear weapons in august 6th and august 11, 1945, 90000- 160000 people in Hiroshima and 60 to 80 thousand people in Nagasaki were died of which 60 percent were killed at its first flash burns.

WFDY has always clear stance about imperialist and war policy of Japan that had carried out lot of suffering to the people of Korea, China, and Indo-China and making alliance with fascism for aggression is condemnable; and people’s resisting for their liberation and freedom in the countries always deserve victory. In fact, such war policy of Japan had pushed and misused the peace loving, dedicated and patriotic common people of Japan for war and aggression against neighbors. At the same time, we have our all respect and solidarity to the common people of Japan that they are great aspirators against nuclear weapons, defenders for any violation against their constitution of non-aggression and to promote peace and harmony in the world.

The third and fourth festival of WFDY had highlighted the issue of nuclear weapon to be abolished from world; and in many times we had taken some serious campaign against disarmament. The world is stepping in 21st century and our tragic sadness of using nuclear weapons has matured by 66 years. However, it is invisible that all the accumulation of nuclear weapons in this world with capacity to destroy this world many times and every corner to demonstrate the final show of idiocy spending billions of dollars while people in other world are dying from hunger, starvation and AIDS pandemic.

Finally, we express our commitment to fight against accumulation of nuclear weapons on this planet and to fight for the cause of disarmament in which the imperialist world order is first and foremost responsible, and pushing the whole humanity into the brink of disaster. The world needs full denuclearization and disarmament, not the hypocrite measures that USA (the only country that has actually ever used the bomb) and its imperialist allies demand from other countries (Iran, DPRK, etc.) while they keep developing aggressions and occupations and more higher technological and precise nuclear weapons.

Further, we express our solidarity with the struggles carried out by our member organizations in Japan JLSY, KYLJ, DYLJ, as well as all other members of WFDY, in those fronts.

On the 65 years of US nuclear attack to Hiroshima and Nagasaki

Today is the day August 6; the nuclear weapon is used in war leaving death of about 150000 people in Hiroshima and later on 80000 people in Nagasaki with its devastating effects.

There is no justification of this weapon who used then, amassed in their artillery more since then, and deserve proud of having it, and trying to acquire now– is just to invite incalculable catastrophe against humanity.

The World Federation of Democratic Youth has always raised this concern very strongly. Whilst we born struggling against Nazi brutality of war against humanity we always lauded our voice high for denuclearization and disarmament of whole world at the same time. Here the question pertains not about who were allied and who frayed, but an issue revolves around why war, what sort of war and war against whom.

The 2nd World Festival of Youth and Students in Prague has commemorated the Hiroshima Day not to see such man made catastrophe again by coming generations. The World Federation of Democratic Youth is going to have its 17th World Festival of Youth and Students in coming December in Johannesburg, South Africa. In the festival we have a tribunal against use of Nuclear Bomb that is to raise our voice for denuclearization and disarmament of whole world.

It goes really beyond our thinking level about the stock of Nuclear weapons piled by the USA and the former soviet countries and others later on- to create hegemony or in the name of global balance of power or security! We know the countries must have their calculation that how many times they can destroy this world into pieces as the US has it’s already experience of using it in Hiroshima and Nagasaki and Soviet Union had self-faced with Chernobyl disaster. More than 25000 nuclear weapons almost each with 16 times more powerful than the blasted one in Hiroshima are still there at launch pad and in artilleries coupling with devastating H-Bombs. This process has triggered to dispose trillions of dolor of resources against humanity that could be in urgent need to fight against poverty, hunger, environment crisis, AIDS etc in the world.

The tiresome saying about the responsibility of holding nuclear weapons and their much afraid if it goes in hand of non-state actors or for terrorist attack is much highlighted. WFDY agrees that this application could be serious. However, the non proliferation of nuclear weapon could effectively applicable only if the doctrine of world security could rely on the mutual understanding among countries for the world peace and progress. If the imperialist policy under the US leadership goes on its way of preemptive doctrine of attack even after end of cold war sidelining all the countries and UN Mechanism, the wish of non-proliferation will always be other facet of doctrine to maintain just hegemony.

The WFDY is always against proliferation of nuclear weapons. To summon this task the world community must come up with higher level of agreement to eliminate those weapons from everywhere in the world.

On this Hiroshima Day we express our solidarity with the victims and survivors of nuclear weapons in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. We memorize this day not to come again in the life of coming generation anywhere in the world. We reaffirm our commitment to struggle for safer-world free from all nuclear weapons in the world and join hands in hands with our member organizations in Japan and with all others who are struggling for this great cause of humanity.

On 64 years of the USA nuclear bombs over Hiroshima and Nagasaki (Japan)

Today is the 64th complete year of the launching of the first nuclear bomb in the History of mankind, in Nagasaki, Japan. This crime, which was soon after repeated in Nagasaki, demonstrated the inhuman and brutal character of imperialism, and its main interpreter over the last 64 years: the United States of America.

The launching of nuclear bombs over the already surrendered state of Japan was no more than a political and military sign of USA’s imperialist wish for worldwide domination. Both the sign and the attempts of domination caused millions of wounded and dead, brought starvation, destruction and misery to many people, destroyed the right of millions of young people to have a school, a hospital, a job, a cultural centre or a sports pitch.

During this time the only thing that allowed mankind to stop the imperialist greed of USA, and later European Union and Japan (the main imperialist poles), was its organized struggle and resistance. Only the resistance and struggle of the people have avoided even more brutal wars and even more militarization. Only the organized struggle of the people have made it possible for so many countries and peoples to be free, independent and sovereign, despite the continuous threats, blackmail and interventions of imperialism.

Today, more than ever, it is crucial a shift in the world’s policies. WFDY calls upon all its member and friend organizations to rally their efforts and unite their strengths to, with their struggle, make a real change possible for mankind, for a world where demilitarization is a fact and not rhetoric, where peace is a reality and not slogan, and where friendship and cooperation are honest between peoples and states, unlike the exploiting policies conducted by USA, European Union and Japan in its manipulation and despise of the United Nations and the International Law.
