We continue our work, we continue our struggle: CENA regional meeting

After the success of the 18th Assembly WFDY continues its work and activity to implement our decisions and our goals. The dynamics given to WFDY by the Assembly are not to fade away. We continue our struggle feeling even stronger and more determined. The times are difficult for the peoples of the world. Imperialsm continues to work against our rights against our freedom and against peace. But so do we continue to resist and organize the youth for the future of peace, solidarity and revolutionary social transformation.

In this framework we organizing our first regional meeting, the meeting of the Commision of Europe and North America. The meeting will take place in London on 25 and 26 of February 2012. During the meeting we will discuss and evaluate the political, social and economic developments in our countries and in the region and their effect on the youth and the people. We also will discuss and collectively take decisions about our next steps and goals for CENA in the year 2012, always in the framework of the decisions of the 18th Assembly of WFDY.

Having always in mind the forthcoming mission in Western Sahara, we will look forward to the next CENA meeting in London and the continuation of our work. As the struggles of the youth against imperialism continues restless so does WFDY, the bigest expression of the worlds anti-imperialist youth movement.

On the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People

WFDY, taking the opportunity of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, expresses its solidarity, sympathy and support for the just struggle of the Palestinian People for the recovery of legitimate and inalienable national rights, against imperialist threats of the U.S. and Israel.

The International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People was established by decision of the UN General Assembly in 1977. The November 29 was chosen as the date because in 1947 the General Assembly of the UN adopted Resolution 181, which provided for the creation of two separate states in Palestine, a “Jewish” and an “Arab”, a joint capital in Jerusalem.

The situation in Palestine remains extremely difficult. The Israeli government policy leads to a vicious circle of blood, violates international law and any notion of human rights and removes the possibility of reaching a solution. We condemn in the strongest manner the plans of U.S., NATO and its allies, aimed to control the region, to serve their own imperialist interests and we call on peoples of the region to stand against their imperialist plans.

We consider the historical claim of the Palestinian Authority to the UN to become a full member state to be of great importance. The diplomatic struggle of the Palestinians has led to international recognition in its first victory with the passing of their request for full membership in UNESCO. It is worth to underline that the United States had warned that if approved the request to upgrade to full Palestinian State will suspend funding to UNESCO, which now stands at $ 80 million equivalent to 22% of the budget.

Taking this opportunity we salute the militant Palestinian people and especially the Palestinian youth which after all this decades are still fighting for their freedom. We also salute the anti-imperialist movement and all the people who for decades are standing in solidarity by the side of the Palestinian People, and of course our comrades in Israel who are fighting for peace and justice under the repression of the Israeli state.

As WFDY we will continue organizing our struggle in the anti-imperialist youth movement to reach to a peaceful solution for the Palestinian issue. A solution that relies on the implementation of resolutions 242, 338, 194, and 425 United Nations, which provide for the withdrawal of Israeli troops from all occupied Palestinian territories, the Golan heights and the other Arab territories under occupation by the 1967, in recognition of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and to recognize an independent, sovereign viable Palestinian state full membership of the UN, within the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

On the prosecutions against CJC Spain members and popular movements

In a few days, in Spain another act of governmental and state repression against the popular movement will take place. On the 1st of December, three members of the Communist Party of the Peoples of Spain and the Collectives of Young Communists will be on trial under false accusations fabricated by the police and without substantial evidence. In reality their real “crime” is their ideology and their participation in the struggle of the peoples of Spain for social justice.

The case of the three Spanish militants is not the only one. All around the world, even in the self proclaimed “democratic” states of Europe and North America the popular movements and the struggle of the peoples are prosecuted. The criminalization of communist ideals and communist organizations, the falsification of history by the European Union, the police violence against demonstrators, the arrests of progressive and socialist students and the provocations against the massive class oriented popular demonstrations are all examples that in different scales and levels capitalism tries to eliminate every core of resistance.

The repression, the prosecutions and the attacks against militants of the popular movements must alarm every democratic and progressive young man and woman. All this comes in the same framework as the attacks on the social rights in all of these countries.

WFDY expresses its solidarity towards the three comrades in Spain. Their battle is an example of the many battles we have to give against imperialist mechanisms. Even though these mechanisms seem powerful we are sure that the peoples struggle and especially the struggle of the youth will one day defeat them.

We call upon all WFDY member to express to solidarity with our Spanish comrades in the framework of the struggle that their developing in their countries for democratic rights, against imperialism.
