PROTEST LETTER

The World Federation of Democratic Youth (WFDY) expresses its deep concern and protest towards the measures you have carried out against our member organization in your country – KSM (Communist Youth Union).

As you probably have already realized several actions have taken place all over the world promoted by the anti-imperialist, progressive, democratic and peace-loving youth and people’s movement expressing active solidarity with KSM, and opposing against the attacks launched by the Government of Czech Republic to prohibit it.

The International Campaign for Democratic and Civil Rights and Liberties launched by WFDY is only starting with this Day of Common Actions (27th of February 2006). We emphasize once more that the action and the fight of the anti-imperialist, progressive and democratic youth movement, all over the world, won’t let any expression of the youth movement to be oppressed or silenced.

Enclosed with this letter we are sending you the statement “Against repression and offense to democratic rights – Solidarity with KSM (Communist Youth Union of Czech Republic)” adopted by the Coordinating Council Meeting of WFDY on its last meeting on 11th and 12th of February 2006.

We are also sending you the banner we have used on the Protest Action in Solidarity with KSM, which took place on 13th February 2006 in front of the Embassy of Czech Republic in Hungary.

Moreover we would like to convey you that your attempts and maneuvers to strike KSM will always have the strong opposition and active combat and action from WFDY to stop it, following the rich and noble history and tradition of our Federation on the struggle for youth rights, peace and democracy.
