The World Federation of Democratic Youth will participate in the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the birth of comrade Kim Il Sung, that will take place in Pyongyang between 9 and 17th of April, at the invitation of our member organization “Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth”.

The presence of WFDY in DPR Korea, in this important moment for the country, comes as a sign of our consistent support and solidarity towards the Korean Youth and People and as an indication of our respect to the revolutionary life and work of the great Korean leader comrade Kim Il Sung.

This anniversary has great value for the Korean Youth since the life and struggle of comrade Kim Il Sung can be completely identified with the struggles of the Korean Youth and People for the last hundred years for freedom, self determination, and the right of deciding and building their future according to their needs.

Comrade Kim Il Sung played a decisive role for the course of the Korean people: through his leadership and skills, he lead the Korean people to its socialist future. Due to his leadership abilities, and his personality he gain the respect beyond the borders of his country and beyond his fellow people: he gained the respect of the international anti-imperialist movement and the peoples who struggle all around the world for their own independence, self determination and freedom.

The ideological, theoretical and practical contribution of comrade Kim Il Sung was a tool for the people of Korea to build the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, to build their socialist state and to remain to this day an example of anti-imperialist struggle. His theoretical work was translated in over 60 languages in 110 countries since 1950s.

The World Federation of Democratic Youth will participate to the celebrations of this event in DPR Korea, expressing this way its solidarity to the youth and the people of the country. With the feelings of enthusiasm and honor we will be by the side of our member organization Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth at this important moment of the Organization, the people and the country.
