WFDY solidarity statement on Western Sahara

The World Federation of Democratic Youth is deeply concerned and shocked with the deliberate merciless disregard of the basic human rights abuses being continually shown by the nefarius government of Moroccan against the innocent people of the Western Sahara. The current developments will not auger well with the efforts being currently implemented by the United Nations Security Council, which is the most reliable highest office on the land expected to bring about peace to all human species on the globe.
The recent arrest of human rights activists and lawyers who visited Western Sahara clearly derails, undermines whilst pouring cold water on the United Nations Security Council resolution of 1871 of 30 April 2009, thus diabolically acting against the international body and the wishes and aspirations of the Sahrawi people.
We call for the urgent release of the seven Sahrawi’s amongst many other people in the endless list growing by day as these arrests will not bring peace, but will further escalate more crimes against humanity by the Moroccan officials. Freedom of association and movement is not a privilege but forms part and parcel part of the basic human birth rights being denied in daylight by the occupying imperialistic forces.
WFDY urges the United Nations to address as a matter of urgency as the issue of Moroccan intervention has become a mind-boggling issue as Moroccans are continuously threatening the sovereignty and peace of an independent nation.
We believe in peaceful resolution of misunderstandings based on mutual respect of the mediators, as the people of Sahrawi seek nothing other than living in harmony with their resources without retrogressive external forces, thus any peace process should be buttressed by the United Nations Security Council resolution.
We therefore urge all member and friendly organizations to continuously denounce such acts of barbarism by the plain clothed Moroccan police details that have resorted to replace professionalism with hatred and segregation of highest order in the 21st century.
The World Federation of Democratic Youth will not rest, sleep and will always denounce the uncultured retrogressive forces that fail to respect the basic principles of human rights by the occupying forces which aim to bring mayhem and chaos to cause untold suffering amongst the youth and future generations of Western Sahara.
