    Denouncing the situation in Honduras

The World Federation of Democratic Youth expresses its most energetic condemnation for the shameful elections taking place in Honduras, that have been imposed by the coup government with the support of the north American imperialism and representing a worldwide shame, in which 65% of the people has decided not to participate.US imperialism, together with its servants of Colombia, Panama, Peru, Costa Rica and Israel, sending observers from fascist organizations like USAID, NED, UnoAmerica group, the Cuban-American Foundation and the Zionist and criminal government of Israel, expresses its despise for all that have struggled for the poor, humble, for the young people, children and women, and reaffirms that unique intention in Latin America is to bring back the violence, the military dictatorships and the end of the change processes going on right now, following the wishes of the bourgeois and fascist oligarchy that is indeed behind the ruling forces of USA.

Today, more than ever, the Latin American young people have to be conscious that the only alternative is to struggle together to secure the achievements of their countries and to stop the progress of the fascist right wing. It is then necessary to condemn in all possible places the coup d’état in Honduras, as imperialism will keep trying other actions of this kind. It is necessary for the Latin American youngsters to understand that the moment they are living demands more than ever to continue the struggle because “It is necessary to win”, as once said José Félix Ribas.

On behalf of all its member and friend organizations and the progressive youth of the world, WFDY reaffirms its strong rejection and its total condemnation to the manipulated and illegal elections in Honduras and calls upon all the young people of the world to express its condemnation in all possible places, struggling for a better world.

WFDY solidarity statement on Western Sahara

The World Federation of Democratic Youth is deeply concerned and shocked with the deliberate merciless disregard of the basic human rights abuses being continually shown by the nefarius government of Moroccan against the innocent people of the Western Sahara. The current developments will not auger well with the efforts being currently implemented by the United Nations Security Council, which is the most reliable highest office on the land expected to bring about peace to all human species on the globe.
The recent arrest of human rights activists and lawyers who visited Western Sahara clearly derails, undermines whilst pouring cold water on the United Nations Security Council resolution of 1871 of 30 April 2009, thus diabolically acting against the international body and the wishes and aspirations of the Sahrawi people.
We call for the urgent release of the seven Sahrawi’s amongst many other people in the endless list growing by day as these arrests will not bring peace, but will further escalate more crimes against humanity by the Moroccan officials. Freedom of association and movement is not a privilege but forms part and parcel part of the basic human birth rights being denied in daylight by the occupying imperialistic forces.
WFDY urges the United Nations to address as a matter of urgency as the issue of Moroccan intervention has become a mind-boggling issue as Moroccans are continuously threatening the sovereignty and peace of an independent nation.
We believe in peaceful resolution of misunderstandings based on mutual respect of the mediators, as the people of Sahrawi seek nothing other than living in harmony with their resources without retrogressive external forces, thus any peace process should be buttressed by the United Nations Security Council resolution.
We therefore urge all member and friendly organizations to continuously denounce such acts of barbarism by the plain clothed Moroccan police details that have resorted to replace professionalism with hatred and segregation of highest order in the 21st century.
The World Federation of Democratic Youth will not rest, sleep and will always denounce the uncultured retrogressive forces that fail to respect the basic principles of human rights by the occupying forces which aim to bring mayhem and chaos to cause untold suffering amongst the youth and future generations of Western Sahara.

    On the International Students’ Day

Today, November 17, is once again celebrated the International Students’ Day.

This day, whose origin is deeply connected with the brave struggle of the Czech students’ movement against the nazi-fascist oppression and occupation over the country, is more than ever up to date.

The world we live in, dominated by the imperialist forces, excludes millions of young people from access to any form of education, whilst spends huge amount of resources to continue the imperialist wars, occupations and destruction.

Furthermore, for those can have access to some sort of education, the contents and the possibilities of accessing wide and deep knowledge is daily more and more narrowed by elitization policies followed by the imperialist allied Governments, privatizing and/or increasing the costs of access to education - particularly in the highest levels, but not only - implementing the guidelines of the market for education, as proposed by the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund and the World Trade Organization, structures that represent the interest of the big economic groups.

The access to education, in a free, quality and universal way, is a priority for our world and for mankind, as this is the only way to ensure free and democratic development, breaking the chains that imperialism wants to impose to the youth and peoples of the world, producing generations of people unaware of their history and rights, unwilling and incapable to struggle for the overthrown of the same system that oppresses and exploits them.

On this day, for its historical meaning and for its outstanding relevance in the current world, WFDY reaffirms its solidarity and full support to the students’ movement. The historical bounds between WFDY and the international students’ movement and all the struggles that throughout the world are developed by students have from WFDY the maximum attention and support.

WFDY calls upon its member and friendly organizations to continue their struggle for public, free and quality education for all as part of the wider struggle against imperialism.
